For those applying to thesis-based Masters and PhD programs, reaching out to potential advisors can give your application the boost it needs for individual programs and help ensure a better experience upon acceptance.  It can also prevent you from wasting money on application fees if the research or professor in which you are interested is not available.  I can help you hone in on potential advisors based on your interests and academic profile and craft emails that are sure to get their attention. 

The Statement of Purpose (SOP), or Personal Statement, is the most important part of your application.  I will help you craft an essay that tells your story, emphasizes your strengths, and shows the admissions committee that you are a good fit for their program.

Most applications ask for a resume or a Curriculum Vitae (CV) in addition to your SOP.  This is an opportunity to showcase your achievements in an easily-digestible format and display those you didn't have room to talk about in your SOP.  I can help you craft a professional-looking resume or CV that highlights your relevant experiences, awards, and if applicable, publications and presentations.

The NSF Graduate Fellowship Program (or GRFP for short) is a prestigious fellowship which provides a hefty stipend and grants additional money to the program of your choice for three years.  Its primary benefit is that it gives students the ability to pursue research of their choosing as opposed to being given a project which may not perfectly align with their interests.  As a recipient of the NSF GRFP myself, I have experience with the application process and what makes reviewers tick.  I can help you craft your Personal Statement and give guidance about the Research Statement.
